WASHINGTON -- The Washington Redskins have signed free agent linebacker Akeem Jordan. Jordan signed his contract Wednesday, making him the third inside linebacker with special teams experience that the Redskins have added in free agency. Darryl Sharpton and Adam Hayward agreed to deals last week. Undrafted out of James Madison, Jordan played six seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles before spending last year with the Kansas City Chiefs. Hes started 44 games over seven seasons, including 10 in 2013. The Redskins needed to restock at inside linebacker for their 3-4 defence after London Fletcher announced he planned to retire. Theyve also re-signed starter Perry Riley. Special teams was a priority after the Redskins ranked last by far in the NFL in punt coverage last year.
